Serena Williams Wins 23rd Grand Slam And Sets An Open Era Record


The well-known tennis player Serena Williams has set a new world record of acquiring a maximum number of major titles. She has broken her own previous record that she was sharing with Steffi Graff.Serena WilliamsSerena Williams won against her sister Venus by 6-4, 6-4 in the Australian Open final, today. Venus Williams who has won the Grand slam 7 times, made her way to the Australian open final this time after 2003.

Serena was anxious before her final match. She even through her racket in frustration but that didn’t affect her victory. Serena charged to the net with a forehand that Venus missed. This is Serena Williams seventh Grand Slam Championship. The 35-year old has also become the oldest slam winner in the open era.

Serena has played 28 matches against her elder sister Venus and this has been her 17th victory against her.
